Kit Morgan's Western Romances read well and keep me turning pages. Unfortunately I can't stop turning the pages and end up reading the Clear Creek adventures in a day or two...then I'm am left waiting for the next in the series. (Great problem to have!)In this adventure, the hero is doing his best to show his father how rebellious he can be, but someone must be praying for the young man as his outlaw attempts are not getting him the reputation he was hoping for. Enter the lady for his heart and He does what many of us do- we attempt to hide our past and begin to worry if we have effectively covered our track. The author opens the readers eyes to how useless worry and anxiousness is when building relationship as she gives us a view of the bigger picture that our hero doesn't see...at first.

I really enjoyed this series.
This is a story of a preacher facing his past via the friends from his past life in a surprising encounter.
The redemption of both the preacher and the girl he 'left behind' but never forgot.
I love Kit Morgan's other books, but this one was a little bit too heavy in that it portrayed a young girl that had been victimized. There were certainly high spots in which good eventually won over evil. There were also many people who helped her to overcome her past and I appreciated that, but generally not what I would want to read if I am looking for a fun or light read.
I think this book was very good because it shows how we need to forgive even those who seem so unforgiveable. I love the fact that two people who were so close and had been separated for years and thrown into such a hard life found each other and are able to find the love they had for each other still there. Now they will spend their lives together as man and wife with the hope of many children. It is a winner.
I bought this book because I have enjoyed most of the books in this series. I was really disappointed in this book. If you are looking for an uplifting book don't read this book. The all the books in this series have the threat of rape of the heroine and others. This book the it happens. I am going to check out the reviews before I buy anymore of this series.
I enjoy books by Kit Morgan, and this one was no exception. A young man who has rebelled against his father tries his run with outlaws but is unsuccessful. He helps victims rather than hurt them. He runs into the woman of his heart and events lead to an amazing ending with outlaws capturing him to show revenge. In the end there is a wedding, and as usual, all goes well. This book was one of several I have read and was not easy to put down once started.
This is the fifth book that I have read in this series and I only give it 3 stars.
What I like is the eccentric characters that are the town's population. I did find myself wanting to return to see what would happen next. And the main characters are all likeable. What I didn't like is the main conflict that negatively affected the heroines self esteem was being kidnapped with the intention of rape or bodily harm. And in one case having been rapped. This was the recurring theme in all the books that I read. There are many things in life that can negatively affect
a woman's self esteem and I would like the author to be more creative in that area. Of course the women victims were all able to rebuild their self esteem with the support of friends, family and unconditional support of the members of the town. I also didn't like that some characters weren't full developed or their back stories have not been told. Cosette's father's background is not told.
What was he before he became a trapper and against bathing? He knows how to ballroom dance and is definitely cultured but is not explained nor why Mrs. Dunnigan is so judgemental.
I also hope Ms Morgan will write a book about what happen's to Duncan and Cosette when they get to London. And finally the author needs a new proof-reader. There are frequent grammatically errors in the text. I would also highly recommend the historical westerns written by Linda Lael Miller.
